Welcome to the Oakland Cemetery Initiative, a volunteer-driven effort to preserve the history of Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. Launched in 2023, our project began with the installation of signs marking notable individuals and landmarks in the cemetery. The first 60 of these signs were installed in the spring of 2024. Our mission is to share the stories and legacies of those interred at Oakland Cemetery. Explore and discover the fascinating history of our community's past through this unique project!
